The first place Kiki visited was the Boston Tea Party Ship.

Boston is the place where the American Revolution began. One reason for this war was that the colonists felt they were being taxed unfairly. To protest these taxes, one night several dozen colonists, disguised as Indians, boarded a boat and threw crates of tea from the boat into the ocean. They would rather go without tea than pay the high taxes Britain wanted them to pay. Kiki wondered if this was why there were so many coffee houses in Boston, but no teahouses.
